A long duration wind event, with wind speeds and/or gusts that are typically only observed every 5 to 10 years, is expected to impact portions of Southwest, Central, and North Central Montana on Sunday. The strongest winds will occur over the plains of Central and North Central Montana, particularly along and west of the I-15 corridor to the Rocky Mountain Front. Travelers should be prepared for difficult conditions, especially if operating a high profile vehicle or traveling on north-south orientated roads. Isolated power outages, tree damage, and damage to other infrastructure is possible. Consider delaying travel if at possible on Sunday.
