Easterly flow eroding clouds west of the mountains, while keeping them entrenched along the eastern slopes, continues overnight, with clouds also lingering farther west, across portions of the middle Ohio Valley. The breeze should also limit dense fog to the deeper, better sheltered valleys, mainly in the mountains. A weak, slow-moving system may sneak showers, even a thunderstorm, into the middle Ohio Valley, early Wednesday morning, but it more is likely to bring showers and isolated thunderstorms, possibly strong, Wednesday afternoon. with a progressively lesser chance farther east. Showers and thunderstorms are still possible Thursday, before the system exits Friday. That will allow high pressure to build in to round out the month of September, and begin the month of October with a potentially long dry stretch.
