Dry conditions return for most today as weak high pressure builds to the north of the area. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon in the southwestern portions of the area as a cold front pushes further south over southern Virginia. Dry conditions continue for the weekend as surface high pressure continues to build over the Mid-Atlantic.
