A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening, most likely 3 PM to 9 PM. Storms will develop and intensify in the afternoon, then will diminish in coverage and intensity shortly after sunset, but linger through the overnight hours before slowly departing to the east Friday. Locally damaging wind gusts and hail to 1 inch diameter are the most likely severe weather threats, as well as locally heavy rain and flooding if heavier amounts fall in urban or poor drainage areas.
