Intense northwest winds are expected to begin about 9 am Friday, and continue through sunset. Winds will average 30-40 mph, with frequent gusts of 50-55 mph. The strongest gusts near 60 mph, and the most widespread blowing dust, will favor areas northwest of Dodge City. Travel will be difficult, with a risk of rapid wildfire spread.
